KENNETH LASHANE MATTHEWS, SR.

Kenneth l. Matthews, Sr. departed this life at University Medical Center on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the age of 42. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Kenneth attended Nicholls State University, and he was employed with Dickie Brennans as a supervisor. Beloved husband of Lakisha Frank Matthews. Devoted father of Kenneth L. Matthews, Jr., Da’Vontae, Kenya, and Kayla. Son of Anthony Harris and the late Kimberly Matthews. Grandson of June Love.  Brother of Nickita Mahoney, DeNitra Riggins, and Anthony Matthews. Son in law of Auerelino and Carla Brown, and the late Larry Simmons. Brother in law of Robert Jackson, Larry Simmons, Keyshona Frank, Arelle Simmons, Lauren Beckem, and Keyiana Matthews. Nephew of Norma, Trenise, Jenise, Joann, Antoinette, Trina, Henry, Triney, Tyrone, Norman, Jr., Nathanel, and Arroll. Favorite cousin of Nita Matthews, Dejarnea Richardson, Jasmine Matthews, Nia Jefferson and Dwight, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
