KECHIA ANN PALMER

Kechia Ann Palmer passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the at age of 52. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Kechia was a proud 1992 graduate of Walter L. Cohen Senior High School. While at Cohen, Kechia’s peers honored her by electing her Homecoming Queen. She embraced life with gratitude, working diligently at Woolworth on Canal Street and later at the Hilton Riverside. Her warm smile and friendly demeanor touched everyone she encountered. Kechia’s life was a testament of grace, humility, and an unyielding passion for the things that brought her joy, music, dance, and extending kindness wherever she went. Beloved daughter of Carol Palmer and the late Lenroy Palmer. Loving sister of Angela Palmer, Carol Lynn “Kathy” (David) Palmer, Kawana (Cedrick) McPherson, Chanti Campbell, Gilbert Watkins, and the late James Kelly. Granddaughter of the late Alberta Wiltz Palmer and Lula Mae White. Cherished niece of Lorraine (Samuel) Hayes, Marion (Johnny) Palmer, Alberta Palmer, Deaconess Phyllis (Dennis) Hawkins, Calvin Palmer, Phillip White, Darryl White, and Paul (Simone) White. Kechia is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and member of Greater Mount Calvary International Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Minister Edwin Deese, officiating.
