Katie Hollins Bell, age 90, entered into eternal rest at Our Lady of Wisdom on Friday, January 4, 2025. She was a native of Pinola, MS and a resident of Westwego, LA. Katie was a graduate of Union High School in Georgetown, MS. She was employed as a Home Health Nurse. Katie was a faithful member of Greater King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA for over 40 years, working untiringly as a Sunday School Teacher, Choir member, Deaconess, and president of the Prayer Band, to just name a few. She later joined Vineyard Ministries, pastored by her brother, Rev. David Hollins, where she remained a faithful and active member, until her health began to decline. Katie was a member of Connection Musical Ensemble, and she was an honored member of Women Gathering at The Well Collegiate Ministry and Louisiana Cursillo Spiritual Retreat. At the age of 60, Katie began playing the saxophone. She played her horn throughout Louisiana and several other states for more than 25 years. Beloved wife of the late Anderson Bell, by first marriage, and the late Rev. Gable Bell, by second marriage. Devoted mother of Kenneth Hollins. Adoptive mother of Adrian Lang. Loving grandmother of Kenneth Matthew Hollins, Eric Anderson Hollins, Kenneth Patterson, and Christal Kaye Hollins. Daughter of the late Rev. Willie H. Hollins and Naomi B. Hollins. Sister of Charlie Hollins, Sr., Malachi (Sandra) Hollins, Naomi H. Hollins, Dora H. Morrison, and the late James Hollins, Sr., Willie Hollins, Rev. David Hollins, Odell Banks, Delphenie Butler, Lula “Ruth” Reeder, and Mary Joyce Jackson. Also cherishing her memories are a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Vineyard Ministries, Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Good News Baptist Church, Greater King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Vineyard Ministries, 1524 Fourth Street, Westwego, LA on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Rev. Jerald A. Brown, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Providence Memorial Park Cemetery-Metairie, LA.
