Karen “KayKay” Forges Lawson entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 2, 2021, in Norman OK at the age of 65. She was a native of Barataria, LA and a resident of Covington, LA. Karen later relocated with her daughter and her family to Oklahoma, where she died after a lengthy illness. Beloved mother of Sheekia Maria and Reginald “BJ” Lawson, Jr. Loving grandmother of of Dalvin, Ka’Sheena, Reginald III, Remy, and Marley Lawson. Former wife of Reginald Alfred Lawson, Sr. Daughter of the late James, Sr. and Doris Forges. Sister of Michael (Terry) Forges, Kenneth (Somonia) Forges, Janith Beth (Ray) Duhon, Teresa F. Terrell (Dallas Latimore), Nicole (Jona) Wilson, and the late James Hebert Forges, Jr. Niece of Leon (Ruby) Forges and Robert (Nettie) Burrell; also survived by 3 godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Greater St. John Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Jean Lafitte Auditorium, 4953 City Park St., Jean Lafitte, LA on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Harold E. Clark, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the auditorium.
