KAREN THERESE BANKS LEWIS

Karen Banks-Lewis made her heavenly transition to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the age of 69. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. Karen was a graduate of L.W. Higgins High School. “K-Do”, as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was a formerly employed as an Administrative Assistant with Jo Ellen Smith Medical Center and West Jefferson Medical Center. She was a very kind and genuinely loving person, who even through her own trials and tribulations, was always willing to offer grace in her own “K-Do” kind of way. Loving mother of Darian (Trishonda) Lewis and Edrianna Banks. Cherished grandmother of Jaden, Jada, Zoë, and Raegan Lewis. Daughter of the late Doris Banks. Granddaughter of the late John and Louise Favorite. Beloved sister of Frederick (Regenia), Janice, and Darryl Banks. Aunt of LaMarqus (Teresa), Reagan (Misty), Jarreth (Mia) and Darilyn Banks, Ja’Nace Melancon, and the late Reginald Banks. Niece of Pellie Ann (Irvin) Moody and Geareld Favorite. Karen is also survived by a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Ernest Weber, officiating.
