Joyce Veal Brown entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the age of 89. She was a native of Merryville, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Beloved wife of the late James Brown, Jr. Devoted mother of James (Jacqueline), Jerome (Patrice), Tarvis, and Gerald Brown, Toyce B. Carroll, and the late Gary Micheal Brown. Daughter of the late Dunk Henderson Veal, Sr. and Ethel Lundy Veal. Sister of Toyce V. Humphrey, Lucille Evelyn Veal, Sherman Veal, she was preceded in death by 7 sisters, and 4 brothers. Mother in law of the late Ocedra Thomas. Best friend of Brenda W. Barrow, also survived by 17 grandchildren,18 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Pilgrim Progress Missionary Baptist Church, and neighboring churches; employees of Federal Express, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, and AngelCare’s are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 2507 Perdido St. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Antoine Jacobs officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery-New Orleans, LA.
