JOY LYNN HOUSTON

Joy Lynn Houston entered peacefully into eternal rest at Ferncrest Manor Living Center on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at the age of 41. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Joy attended West Jefferson High School and held positions at several businesses including Walmart (Manhattan), West Jefferson Hospital, and Raising Canes. Wife of Lionel Franklin, Jr. Loving mother of Lionel Franklin, III, LaJada Ann Franklin, Lyndell Franklin, and Janiyah Melanie Houston. Daughter of John Houston, Sr. and the late Melanie Lemon Smith. Beloved sister of Earnell (Mary) Lemon, Hope Houston, Faith Lemon, John Smith, Jr. and John Houston, Jr.; also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Tabernacle Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Tabernacle Church, 355 Sala Avenue, Westwego, LA on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Jenny Wells, host pastor; Pastor Charlie Grear, Jr. of Holy Word Church, officiating.
