JOSEPH WILLIAMS, JR.

Joseph Williams, Jr., a retied detective with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff Office, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, July 19, 2021 at the age of 90. He was a native and resident of Marrero, LA. Joe, as he was known to family and friends, was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Odd Fellows and Marrero MLK Senior Citizens. Joe was an active member of Regular Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board, Trustee Board and Usher Board. Beloved husband of the late Miami Gibson Williams. Devoted father of Rodney, Aledia Nedra, Chris and Vincent Williams. Son of the late Joseph Williams, Sr. and Selina Smith Williams. Grandson of the late Simon and Mary Blake Williams. Loving brother of Elvira Felton and the late Matthew Williams, James Williams, Mary Miles, Almenia Williams, Madeline Clements, Dorothy Antoine, Daisy Powell, Evelyn Chess, and Gloria Stevenson.  Joe is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Regular Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; retired and active employees of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff Office are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Regular Baptist Church, 901 5^th St. Gretna, LA on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11:00a.m. Pastor T. A. Hodge, officiating.  Viewing will be held from 10:00a.m. -11:00a.m ONLY at the church.
