JOSEPH PERKINS, III

Joseph Perkins, III departed this life at his residence on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at the age of 47. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Lacombe, LA. Joseph was a graduate of John Ehret High School and attended University of New Orleans. Jody, as he was affectionately known by family and friends was a chef at a senior living facility and a talented donut maker. Devoted father of Niyla Janee Perkins, Elijah Joseph, and Davante Malik Folse. Grandfather of Kalani Angel Folse. Loving son of Joseph and Sheryl Perkins. Grandson of the late Joseph Perkins, Sr., Alka Smith Perkins, Curtis Thomas, Sr., and Shirley Richardson Thomas. Brother of Shawn, Lance, and Adrian. Uncle of Shawnee’ Perkins, Trineti Naquin, and Isiaiah Jones. Nephew of the late Dennis G. Perkins, Ellis J. Thomas, and Louise M. Perkins. Beloved cousin of Rudy Hubbard and Melvin Hudson. Joseph is also survived by his children’s devoted aunt Emma Naquin who helps care for his children, 12 aunts, 11 uncles, and a host of great aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members Thompson Temple Church of God in Christ and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Thompson Temple Church of God in Christ 1515 Whitney Ave. Gretna, LA on Friday, July 16, 2021, at 11:00a.m. Pastor Keith E Thornton, Sr. officiating.
