Johnnell Mitchell, age 89, departed this life on Saturday, April 3,2021 at Ferncrest Manor Living Center. He was a native of Winter Haven, FL and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Johnnell was a veteran of the United States Navy, and a retired employee of the Department of Defense. Beloved husband of Lorraine A, Mitchell. Stepfather of Capella, Norbert and Timothy. Son of the late Charlie Mitchell and Wilhemia “Honey” Mitchell. Brother of Leroy Mitchell and the late Buddy (Dorothy) and Raymond (Gloria) Mitchell. Son-in-law of the late Thelma Young. Brother-in-law of Waldin Allen and the late Lillian Mitchell, Ella Industrious, Carla Young, Stanley and Robert Allen. He was preceded in death by an aunt, and 2 nephews. Johnnell is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Graveside Service at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Rd.
