JOHN SMITH, JR.

John Smith, Jr., entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, October 23, 2020 at the age of 78. He was a native of Starksville, MS and a resident if Marrero, LA. Beloved father of Doyle (Ingrid) Smith, Joan (Dorian) Rickson, and Ira (Sandra) Carey.  Son of the late John Smith and Annie Harris Smith. Brother of Annie Louise Smith, Shirley Lewis, Annette Smith, and the late Karl E. Smith, also survived by a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Progressive Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE STREET GRETNA, LA on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Sterling Mealancon officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
