JOHAUN LEWIS OSBORNE

Johaun Carrie Lewis-Osborne, a homemaker, entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at the age of 47. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Johaun was a graduate of O. Perry Walker High School, and she attended Jackson State University. She was formerly employed as a substitute teacher with Orleans Parish Public School System. Johaun was a faithful member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Sanctuary Choir, Women of Perfection Choir, and a volunteer with the Liturgical Praise Team. She also volunteered with NORD. Beloved wife of Mac Anthony Osborne. Devoted mother of Jaari C’yaun Lewis-Osborne, Mac Anthony Osborne, II, and Olivia M. J. Osborne. Loving daughter of Carrie Duplessis-Lewis and the late Joseph Lewis, Jr. Granddaughter of the late Edward and Carrie Benn Duplessis, Joseph and Alberta Pierce Lewis. Sister of Leroy Martin (Peggy) Brown of Geneva, Switzerland, Darryl Lawrence (Iris) Brown, Von Eric (Alethia) Brown of Arlington, TX, Joseph Lewis III of San Antonio,TX, Alvin (Sabrina) Lewis of Glenn Heights, TX, Roland Lewis of Dallas, TX, Barbara Washington, Alberta (Troy) Devore of San Antonio, TX, Betty (Aaron) Taylor, Richette Chapman, and the late Dwayne Michael Brown. Johaun is also survived by 1 grandchild, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Asbury United Methodist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend a Memorial Celebration at Asbury United Methodist Church, 2725 Ernest Street, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church.
