JERRY BERNARD, SR.

Jerry Bernard, Sr. departed this life on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the age of 74. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Jerry was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School Class of 1968. He was a self-employed contractor and cement mason, and a former employee of Weiner Corporation. Brother Jerry served as an elder for 50 years with Jehovah’s Witnesses. Beloved husband of Janice Mae Willis- Bernard. Loving father of Jerry, Jr., Erica Trion, Natasha Shenee, and Laron Ian. Son of the late Mary Smith- Bernard. Grandson of the late Emma Dominique. Brother of James Charles Banks, Jr. and the late John Banks. Father in law of Gina Bernard, David Digg, Sr., and Ira Maurice, Jr.  Son in law of the late Edward, Sr. and Ruby Mae Willis. Brother in law of Melvin Willis, Irvin Willis, Lawrence Dent, Tyrone Stewart, Roland Wilson, Herbert Williams, Genevieve Dent, Doretha Kirkland, Dinah Willis, Mary Willis, Ellen Willis, Marion Willis, and the late Edward Willis, Sr., and Elveria Stewart. Cousin of the late Gloria Mae Smith, also survived by 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, and members of Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses 5325 August Ave. Marrero, LA, on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 12:00noon.
