James L. Walker, Sr. transitioned peacefully into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Friday, July 30, 2021 at the age of 78. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Beloved husband of the late Doris Hymes Walker. Loving father of James L. Walker, Jr., Alexander (DeNita) Walker, and the late Emery Walker and Toni Marie Walker. Devoted grandfather of Jatovenia Walker, Denzell Lynch, Dondre Walker, Tyrese Walker, Jeremiah Walker, and the late Tatiyana Walker. Great grandfather of Jayden and Anaya Lynch, and Jaylin Walker. Son of the late Elisha “Buster” Walker, Bennie, Sr. and Viola Allen. Brother of Lois Varnado, Gail (Chaunsey) Jones, Gretchen (Gerard) Williams.  Son-in-law of the late Hilton and Ruby Domino. Brother-in-law of Claudia Allen; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Progressive Church, Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Household of Faith and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Edward Joseph III, officiating; Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time.
