James Herbert Lieteau, Jr peacefully entered eternal rest at his home on Monday, August 24, 2020, at the age of 63. James was native to Houma, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA for 42 years. He was known for being a great cook, an experienced handyman, and an animal lover. In Houma, he attended St. Lucy's Catholic School, Terrebonne High School, and served shortly in the military. He worked many jobs in both Houma, and New Orleans, most notably Liberty Hardware Store and Norfolk Southern Railway. He was the husband of Voncile Douglas for 40 years. The father of Jarrell Kendrick, Javonia Lieteau, and Meijah Lieteau, and grandfather of Journee and Camron Kendrick. He was proceeded in death by his parents James Lieteau Sr of Mount Airy, LA, and Marion Brown of Houma, LA, his younger sister Marla Nixon, and two of his dogs Runt and DeLis. He is survived by his six sisters: Sandra Lieteau, Patricia L. Stovall, Jennifer Riley (Bernard), Yolanda Lieteau, Gwen Harding (Warren), and MacCormek McKann (Nathaniel). He was the uncle to Tonia Bridgers (DJ), Terrell Lieteau, Melissa Lieteau-Pierre (Omar), and Chase Lieteau, Miranda, Jaboris, and Garrett Riley, Jamoris Lieteau, Jawell and Jacoby McKann, and Clarrissa and Raven Nixon. He will be missed by even more nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, family members, and friends.
