ISABEL SMITH

Isabel Smith departed this earthly life into eternal rest on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the age of 82.  She was a native of Plaquemine, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Isabel was a graduate of Iberville High School. Beloved wife of Joseph Webster Smith, Jr. Devoted mother of Chrishendol Yvette Smith. Daughter of the late the late Rev. Anderson Smith and Roxie Smith. Sister of Ella Mae (the late Douglas) Coleman, Pastor Royal A. (Linda) Smith, Linda Smith (Isabel’s private caretaker), Carolyn Smith (Wilbert) Ross, Joseph L. Smith, Cheryl (the late Michael, Sr.) Grant, Frank G. (Trish) Smith, and the late Robert “Bobby” Smith, Corinne “Red” Smith, Anderson “Poppa” Smith, and Alice “Betty” Gray. Sister in law of Buster (Rosemary) Smith, Ted Wayne (Walthia) Smith, Marvin Plant, Sr. Jackie L. Plant, O’Connor L. Plant, Josephine “Emma” Mason, Sylvia (Percy) Thomas, Shirley (Richard) Howard , Rebecca Smith, Chivonne Georgetown, Gladys Seals (the late Robert), Kathy Patterson, and the late Perry Smith Sr., Leroy Smith, Randy Smith, and Louise Smith.  Godmother of Doris Spriggs Myles, and Juville Solite. Beloved friend of the late Vera Allen, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Service at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 1419 4^th St Westwego, LA on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Rev. Woodrow Hayden officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
