HERMAN LEE WINCHESTER

Herman Lee Winchester entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the age of 84. He was a native of Opelousas, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Herman was a retired welder with Avondale Shipyard after 30 years of service. He later became a licensed minister. Beloved husband of Bobbie G. Winchester. Loving father of Gregory, Cedric “Tiger” and Kennedy Winchester, Kendra Martin, and Pamela Wallace. Son of the late Cade and Mary Berry Winchester, also survived by a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Berea True Holiness COGIC, Thompson Temple COGIC, St. Stephen B.C., Life Center Cathedral and all neighboring churches; former employees of Avondale Shipyard (Plate Shop Department) are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Thompson Temple COGIC 1515 Whitney Ave. Gretna, LA on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Elder Warren Buchanan officiating - Elder Keith E. Thornton Host Pastor. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the above-named church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
