HERMAN MARTY COLLINS

Herman Marty Collins entered peacefully into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at the age of 66. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Herman was a graduate of Warren Eastern Senior High School. He was employed as a professional truck driver for over 40 years with various companies and carnival krewes. Herman was an active member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, where he participated with the Male Chorus and Men’s Ministry. Beloved husband of Lynne T. Collins. Loving father of Devonsylette Collins, Herman M. Collins, II, and Brittany Collins. Stepfather of Brandon, Brett, and Brian Burkett. Son of the late Herman Collins and Mildred August Collins. Brother of Donald Collins, Cornelius Collins, Jo Ann Lockett, and Delores Williams. Herman is also survived by 5 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastor, officers, and members of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church 3512 US Highway 90 Avondale, LA on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Darold Ingram, officiating.  Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above-named church.
