HENRY LEE CARTER, SR.

Henry Lee Carter, Sr. transitioned peacefully at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Hospital on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the age of 68. He was a native of Natchez, MS, a former resident of Ferriday, LA and resident of New Orleans, LA since 1969. Henry was a 1972 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country. He was employed as a dedicated roofer for over 40 years. Beloved father of Henry Lee (Keri) Carter, jr., Henry London, Cyril London, Brittany London of Baton Rouge, LA, Shasta Lon, Annie London, and Andrea London of Augusta, GA. Loving grandfather of Henry Lee (Taylor) Carter III of Dallas, Tx, Brianna and Kayla Carter, Jah’nae and Justin Jason, and Jeremy Franklin of Baton Rouge, LA, NAHLA and Savina Jasper. Great grandfather of Kaison Carter. Son of the late Rosie Carter. Brother of Rev. Jesse Banks of port Arthur, TX, Larry banks of Houston, TX, Ethel Carter of Dallas, TX, Dorothy Amacker Scott of Missouri City, TX, and the late Leon Carter, Fredlena Allen, Juanita Carter, Irene Hinkston, Annie Ruth Wilson, and Lula Feaster. Uncle of James Hinkson of Nashville, TN, Norah (Kassandra) Hinkson of Jackson, MS, Derrick Carter, Fredrick Carter of Jacksonville, FL, Leon Solomon, Sarah Hookfin of McKinney, TX, Connie Hinkston Bush of CA, Wanda, Jenise and Tanya Solomon. Henry is also survived by a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
