Hazel Veal Francois departed this life on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the age of 90. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Algiers, LA. Hazel was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in 1947. She was a skilled seamstress who designed many wedding gowns, prom dress, and many fashionable items for the community. Devoted wife of the late Irvin C. Francois, Sr. Beloved mother of Elaine Francois Hughes, Irvin C. (Anita) Francois, Jr., Brenda Francois Kinchen, June Mension, Vanessa (Bryce) Bonaparte, and Alvin (Tiffany) Francois. Daughter of the late Duncan Veal, Sr. and Evelina Williams Veal. Sister of Annie Mae Early and the late Freddie, Joseph, Duncan, Jr., Marguerite, and Adeline, also survived by 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Greater Providence Baptist Church, Mt. Olive Baptist Church # 1 of Algiers, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Greater Providence Baptist Church, 623 Newton St. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time.
