Granville J. Sanford II entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the age of 72. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Junior, as he was affectionately known by family and friends was employed as a longshoreman with the Port of New Orleans, and then he became a mail carrier with U. S. Postal Service. Granville cared deeply for animals and spending time with family. He was a life-long football fan, and his favorite team was the New Orleans Saints. Anyone that met him knew that he was a true “Saints Man”. Devoted father of Granville, III, Abduel, and Shinar Sanford. Son of the late Granville Sanford Sr. and Pauline Mac. Brother of Connie Route, Donald Sanford, Shelia Thomas, Yvette Hall, Vanessa Harris, Charlene Adams, Trellas Berry and the late Shawn J. Sanford. Former husband and cherished friend of Maxine Miller, also survived by 11 grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Hope Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at New Hope Baptist Church, 1807 Rev John Raphael Jr Way, New Orleans, LA on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11:00a.m. Pastor Jamaal Weathersby officiating.
