GILDA MOORE SMITH

Gilda Marie Moore-Smith departed this life at John Hainkel Rehab Center on Friday, May 29, 2020 at the age of 65. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Gilda was a retired employee with Tulane University as an Administrative Assistant. Devoted mother of Asante’ Shepherd, Desiree’ Smith, and the late Tyron and William, III. Daughter of the late Charles Moore and Alice Thomas Taplett. Stepdaughter of the late Charles "Peter" Taplett. Granddaughter of the late Edward and Viola Thomas, Walter, Sr and Mary Henderson Moore. Sister of Kenneth Taplett, Connie (James) Battle, Pamela Smith, and the late Glenn Marie, Patria, Cheryl, Edward and Keith, also survived by 2 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE STREET GRETNA, LA on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time.
