GILBERT WILLIS

Gilbert “Gill” Willis, age 51, entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Saturday, September 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Hampton, GA. “Gill”, as he was affectionately known to family and friends, was educated in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. He was employed with Delta Airlines for 15 years. He was an avid New Orleans Saints Fan, who cheered for the “Who Dat Nation” on game day.Loving husband of 27 years to Tanya Baxter Willis. Devoted father of Zaiden A. Willis and Braylon A. Willis. Beloved son of the late Arthur E. Willis and Kathy Jenkins Marine; stepson of the late Julius Marine. Grandson of the late Gilbert and Victoria Jenkins, Arthur Willis, Sr. and France Parker Willis. Brother of Danielle Marine Turner, Latricia Willis Dennis, Nathaniel and Brian Willis, Darnell and Laston Marine, and the late Victoria Willis. Godfather of Carl “C. J.” Baxter. Son-in-law of Eugene Baxter, Sr. and Elaine S. Baxter; also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Norman Francis, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
