Gertrude Leona Walker

Gertrude "DEA" Leona Walker entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 7, 2019. She was a native of St. Joseph, LA former resident of New Orleans, LA, and presently residing in Victorville, CA.  Devoted mother of Wilbert (Linda) Gross, John  (Xantwaneka “Nikki”) Walker, Ruby Pierce, Hattie (Julius) Taylor, Esther O’Connor, Christine Brown, and Gertrude (Morris) Donald. Grandmother of the late  Sarah Gross. Daughter of the late Ada Simms and  Earnest (Francis) Walker. Sister of the late Earnest Walker and Gable Walker. Sister in law of the late Lue Bertha Walker and Clara Walker. Preceded in death by 4 great grandchildren, also survived by 30 grandchildren, 87 great grandchildren, 64 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Franklin Ave Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Franklin Ave Baptist Church 8282 1-10 Service Rd. South New Orleans, LA on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 10:00a.m. Senior Pastor Fred Luter, Jr. / Pastor Sam Young, Jr. officiating.
