Gerry Wayne Meridy departed this life on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the age of 71. He was a native of Montpelier, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA. Gerry served his country in the US Airforce as a Staff Sergeant and was employed as a Laplaco Bridge Attendant. Devoted husband of Mary Alice Scott Meridy. Beloved father of Gerry Scott, Dwayne Scott, Alvin Scott, Latonya Meridy, Karen and Jean, and the late Brian Scott. Son of the late Alex Meridy and Marion Bell. Brother of Idela Smith, Mary Washington, Karen Washington, Mavis Lee, Kevin Washington, and the late Clayd Washington, and Bertina Lewis, also survived by 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE ST., GRETNA, LA on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the parlor.
