GERALDINE COTTON BROOME

Geraldine Cotton-Broome transitioned peacefully on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the age of 64. She was a native of New Orleans, LA, a former resident of Harvey, LA and presently residing in Marrero, LA. Geraldine was a graduate of John Ehret High School. After graduation she continued her studies at Meadows Draughon Business College and AIU American International College, where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree. She retired from Entergy as a Corporate Procurement Analyst after many years of service. Geraldine was also a former Sales Associate with Dillard’s Department Store. Beloved wife of the late Carl Broome, Sr. Loving mother of Kisha Heard and the late Deangalo and Carl “CJ” Broome, Jr.  Daughter of Ruth Hayes-Martin and the late Alton Cotton. Granddaughter of the late Sidney and Viola Hayes.  Sister of Clarence Cotton, Hallie, Herbert and David Martin, Mary C. Brown, Shirley Hayes, Yvonne Gardet, Patrice Hatten, Jerrelyn Martin, and the late Willie Cotton, Sr., and Martin Hatten. Goddaughter of the late Willie and Mary Butler.  Geraldine is also survived by 1 grandchild, 1 great grandchild, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Regular Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Entergy and Dillard’s are invited to attend a Visitation at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 5pm-7pm. Funeral Service will be held at Regular Baptist Church, 901 5^th Street Gretna, LA on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 10:00a.m.  Pastor T. A. Hodge, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church.
