GERALD HARRIS

Gerald “Nanny” Harris entered peacefully into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Sunday October 10, 2021, at the age of 63. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Devoted father of Keith and Marilyn Jackson. Grandfather of Keiera Jackson, Shinia McDuffy, Kevant and Kevine Thomas, and the late Kevin Thomas. Son of the late Stella M. Harris, and Albert Sparks. Grandson of the late Hillary and Pauline Palmer Mitchell. Brother of Charles (Glenor), Joseph, Anthony, Cornell, Arnell, and Randall Harris, Shelia (Dwight) Singleton, and the late Brenda and Robert Harris. Nephew of Gervin and Harold (Margaret) Mitchell, and Betty M Johnson. Special uncle of Shemeka Harris, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.  Relatives and friends of the family and neighboring churches; employees of Laborie’s Supermarket, Joe’s Café, Wal-Mart, and Harrah’s Casino are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above-named parlor.
