GEORGE WOODS

George Woods, a retired truck driver, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at the age of 73. He was a native of Haughton, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA. George was a veteran of the United States Airforce. Beloved husband of the late Rose N. Woods. Devoted father of Sherrill Woods and Brandon Woods. Grandfather of Kameron Williams, and the late Joshua Woods. Son of the late John King and Melia P. Strogen. Stepson of the late William “Skeeter” Strogen, Sr. and Hussie King. Grandson of the late Harry and Ola B. Dawson. Loving brother of William Jr., Larry, Stevenson, Bobby, Gene, Raymond, Jimmy, Charles, Artio, Teresa, Sandra, Wanda, Gwen, and Jaquetta, and the late Leamon Woods, Chester Strogen, Edward King, and Patty Bailey. George is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
