GELANDA SMITH RIDDICK

Gelanda Venessa Smith Riddick entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the age of 63. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Belle Chasse, LA. Gelanda graduated with honors from Dillard University in 1981 with a Batchelor of Science in Nursing and a minor in Psychology. She was inducted into Who’s Who United States Achievement Academy in 1976. Gelanda was a Private Practice Nurse and formerly employed with several local hospitals.  She was a member of Chi Eta Phi Sorority. Beloved wife of Jerome Anthony Riddick. Devoted mother of Jessica and Jennifer Riddick. Loving grandmother of Stefan Jerome Jones. Daughter of Cicero Smith and Helen Smith. Mother-in-law of Selton Jones, Jr. Daughter-in-law of Claude and Ouida Riddick. Gelanda is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, in laws, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of DeGaulle Drive Church of Christ and all neighboring churches are invited to attend a Memorial Celebration at DeGaulle Drive Church of Christ, 4700 General DeGaulle Dr. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11:00a.m.  Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA
