Frank “Pops” Bailey, Sr., age 75, transitioned peacefully into eternal life on Friday, March 15, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Frank was a graduate of Lincoln High School. He spent most of his adult life dedicated to working as a Truck Driver for the Jefferson Parish School Board and Jefferson Parish Streets Department as Top Skilled Workman, prior to retirement. Frank was a faithful member of Saint Rock Baptist Church in Harvey, LA, where he served as a deacon. Prayer and the word of God was a staple in Frank’s life, and he exemplified it through his devotion, preaching, and spreading the gospel. During his leisure time, Frank spent many years coaching baseball at Mel Ott Park, as he loved sports. He took pride in supporting his son and neighborhood kids with sports. Frank had a kind and giving heart to help those in need. His authentic sense of humor has left so many wonderful memories for his loved ones to laugh and cherish for a lifetime. Beloved father of Frank (Micah) Bailey, Jr. and Minister Dr. Iisha Bailey (Lionel) Drummond. Loving grandfather of Kendrick Bailey, Paris Bailey, Kendaul Bailey, Faith Bailey, Kenidee Bailey, Alexis Drummond, Kodie Rae Colly, Tye Colly, Zade Colly, and the late Frank Bailey III. Great grandfather of Dejaneiro Kasch Bailey, Sincere Frank Rommero, Eukoa Bailey, and Riya Brock. Son of the late Herman “J. B.” Bailey and Olivia Moses Bailey. Brother of Natalie Dauphin, Leah Stewart, Mary Willis, Janet Bailey, Nathan Bailey, Sr., David Bailey, Sr., and the late Arthur Bailey. Frank is also survived by the mother of his children Carol Bailey, 3 godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Rock Baptist Church, St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist, 1738 L. B. Landry Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Bishop Leonard Franklin, Sr., officiating; Pastor Norman Francis, host pastor. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
