Flowers Wilson, age 82, departed this life on Friday, July 1, 2022, at New Orleans V. A. Medical Center, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a native of Carpenter, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. Flowers was a graduate of Lincoln high School. After graduation he enlisted in the U. S. Army to serve his country and was honorably discharged. He returned home and was employed a Tuboscope, Johns Mandeville, and American Cyanimide Chemical Plant. His last employment was with Continental Grain Elevator in Westwego, LA, from which he miraculously survived an explosion at the plant on December 22, 1977. Flowers was a faithful and loyal member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church for 45 years and served on the Deacon Ministry, until his health began to decline. Devoted father of Tyran Damien (Richelle) Wilson and Tanya Latrice Wilson. Loving grandfather of Tyran Armando Wilson, Reonya Wilson, and Norman Cavitt, III. Great grandfather of Damani Blanks. Son of the late Willie Cal Wilson, Sr. and Hannah Jane Mason Wilson. Grandson of the late Ebenezer Wilson, Sr., Belle Miller Wilson, Isiah Mason, Sr., Jessie McClure Wilson, and Eliza Scott Mason. Brother of Willie Cal (Doris) Wilson, Jr., Mable Wilson Bradley, Debra Ann Wilson, Gloria Breaux, and the late Ruby Wilson Boston, Emma Kamilyah Wilson Abdullah, Samuel Wilson, Thomas Ali Nuriddin, and Saul Wilson. Former husband of the late Silverine Jane Johnson Wilson. Flowers is also survived by his nephew and loyal caregiver Lloyd N. Johnson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 Walkertown Way Marrero, LA on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Thomas J. Brown, Jr., officiating. Viewing will be held from 9:00a.m.-9:50a.m. ONLY at the above named church.
