FLORENCE SMITH WASHINGTON

Florence Smith Washington transitioned to her eternal resting place at University Medical Center on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the age of 56.  She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Florence was a graduate of L. W. Higgins High School and she was employed with New Orleans Department of Vital Record as a file clerk for over 25 years. Beloved wife of over 25 years to Roosevelt Washington. Loving mother of Rhema Washington. Daughter of Herman Smith, Sr. and the late Florence Smith. Granddaughter of the late Eddie and Emerle Smith, Felix and Florence Whittington. Sister of Gail (Gerald) Jones, Leticher (Roosevelt) Randall, Patricia (Robert) Gordon, and Herman (Lisa) Smith. Daughter in law of the late Norris and Claudette Washington. Sister in law of Diane (Mark) Burns, Leithia (Mark) Christy, Norris (Christine) Washington, Paul (Deidra) Washington, and Carl Washington. Goddaughter of Dora Smith, also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Regular Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Regular Baptist Church, 901 5^th Street Gretna, LA on Saturday, January 23, 2021at 10:00a.m. Pastor T. A. Hodge, officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:00a.m. until 9:45a.m. at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
