FERDILE ST.CYR

 Ferdile Charles StCyr peacefully departed this earthly life and entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 9, 2024, surrounded by loving family at the home of her daughter and son-in-law (Aline & Charles LaFrance). She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Ferdile was an active member at Asbury United Methodist Church in Algiers (Cut-Off) where she remained a member until her death. She has served in various capacities such as: usher for more than sixty years (until her short illness), choir member, gospel aerobics class, Strides Against Breast Cancer Walks, crowned Mrs. Asbury in 1987, Prayer and Fasting Ministry and the Adult Sunday School Class. She served in various community organizations such as: Friends of Charity Benevolent and Nazarene Benevolent Associations. Beloved wife of the late Paul StCyr. Loving mother of Curtis Benn (late Beverly Hall), Haywood StCyr (Carlette Walker), Leo Kelly (Veronica Lee) StCyr, Aline (Charles) LaFrance and the late Gloriadean, bonus mother of Eldwin Leon StCyr (Samantha Lonon). Daughter of the late Benjamin Charles and Della Smith Charles. Sister of Evelina Washington and the late Thelma Charles, Frank Charles, Mable Williams, Willie Charles, Ben Charles, Phoenix Charles, Ernest Charles, Mary Johnson, Leola Byes, and Thomas Charles. Sister in law of the late Charlotte Santiago, Isiah Williams, Fennie Charles, and Roy Washington, also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, bonus: 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren, 3 godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of St. Matthew United Methodist, Second Baptist, Second Nazarene Baptist, and First African Baptist Churches, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Asbury United Church, 2725 Ernest St., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Rev. Deborah Williams (Interim Pastor), officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00am until service time at the above named church. Interment: Friends of Charity Cemetery New Orleans, LA.
