EVONNIE DIVINITY ODOMS

Evonnie Divinity Odoms, age 69, entered peacefully into eternal rest at East Jefferson General Hospital on Saturday, April 6, 2024. She was a native of Hazelhurst, MS and a resident of Harvey, LA. Evonnie was a graduate of L. W. Higgins High School and briefly studied accounting at Xavier University. She discovered her passion and purpose was helping people and went on to pursue a career as a nurse. She was also the Owner of Evonnie D. Odoms, LLC Trucking Company. Evonnie enjoyed family gatherings, watching classical T.V. shows, plant shopping and singing gospel hymns.  “Mother Odoms”, as she was dearly known, was a faithful member of Full Life Fatih Ministries, where she served as the church mother, new members instructor, prayer leader department head, and with the street mission and intercessory prayer ministries. She will be remembered as a “MIGHTY PRAYER WARRIOR”.  Beloved wife of 46 years to Robert Lee Odoms, Sr. Devoted mother of Chief Warrant Officer II Don, Donnella, Tasha, Teira, Robert, Lacey, Tony, Kirk, Candi, and Isaish. Grandmother of the late Jeremiah Harvey and Lyric Taylor.  Daughter of the late Louis Willie Divinity, Sr. and Bonnie Bell Burns Divinity.   Loving sister of James Flowers, Sr., Louis W. Divinity, Jr., Theresa Ware, Chris Divinity, Rosetta Burrell, Vicki Stewart, Kim Ratcliff, and the late Bernadette Peterson, and Bruce Divinity. Dedicated niece of Eva Holmes. Sister-in-law of the late Kenneth Peterson and Jarvis Burrell, Sr. Also cherishing her memories are 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Full Life Faith Ministries and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Full Life Fatih Ministries, 6951 Lapalco Blvd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Interment: Westlawn Cemetery-Gretna, LA.
