EVERETT JONES

Everett “Monk” Jones, Sr., entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the age of 79. He was a native of Harvey, LA and resident of Westwego, LA. Everett was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Beloved husband of the late Ellen Elaine Eugene Jones. Loving father of Derron and Tamika Jones, and the late Everett Jones, Jr., and Alton “Guy” Williams. Grandfather of Amanda Diaz, Kendrell and Aaria Jones. Great grandfather of Romelia Jones and Sarai Lee. Son of the late Joseph and Anise Jones. Brother of the late Sanders, James, Clarence, and Lionel Jones, and Norma Jones Turner. Son in law of the late Audrey Lee Dixon and Samuel Eugene. Brother in law of Eva Rose Stewart Jones, Barbara Ross Jones, Iola Onezine, Sheila (Rev. Albert) Ketchens, Annette Parker, Paulette Alexander, Kurt Dixon (Debra), and Tracy Eugene, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Evening Star Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Evening Star Baptist Church 817 Grefer St. Harvey, LA on Saturday August 3, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Keith P.
