EVELYN RIVERS RUFFIN

Evelyn Ruffin, age 80, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Bayside Nursing Home. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Evelyn attended L. B. Landry High School and was a retired Chef of Hotel Monteleone. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Algiers, LA. Beloved wife of the late John C. Ruffin. Devoted mother of Nathaniel Smart, Denise Smart, Donald Smart and Dennis Smart. Daughter of the late Leonard Rivers, Sr. and Louise Rivers. Loving sister of Rachal Charles and the late Harold Rivers, and Leonard Rivers, Jr. Godmother of Sherry Robertson; also survived by 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE STREET GRETNA, LA on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
