ESTELLE CARTER MCTIER

March 24, 1940 — December 7, 2020

Estelle Carter McTier, age 80, entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Monday, December 7, 2020. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. She was employed for many years as a cook with Southern Po-boys, until her retirement. Estelle was an avid New Orleans Saints fan, who often referred to her home as “Saint Headquarters”.  Beloved mother of Betty L. (Ralph Sr.) Jackson and Christine C. (Joseph Jr.) Bush. Loving grandmother of Ralph J. Jackson, Jr., Trenise Jackson, Regina Jackson, and the late Iris Johnson. Daughter of the late William A. Carter, Sr. and Lola P. Carter Green. Sister of Albert and Levi Carter, Philip and Elliot Green, and the late William A. Carter, Jr., Jacqueline Simmons, and Bernadine Smith.  Sister-in-law of Kerry Green, Nedra Green, Bernetta Carter, and the late Richard Simmons. Special aunt of Jahyra “Becca” Johnson. Estelle is also survived by her close friends Rachel Marshall, Stella Narcisse, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 433 Avondale Garden Rd. Avondale, LA on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Damien Brown, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time.
