ERVIN JONES

Ervin Jones entered into eternal rest at his residence on Monday, September 11, 2023, at the age of 89. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Ervin was a retired forklift operator with Hunt Wesson Foods for over 30 years. Ervin will forever be known as the photographer. “Red”, as he was affectionately known by family and friends loved taking pictures and being around his family and friends. Beloved husband of 68 years to Leborah Howard Jones. Devoted father of Tyrone (Joannette), Kenneth, John (Linda), and Marlon Jones and the late Pamela D. Jones. Grandfather of Dameon (Danielle) Weber, Elonia (Melvin) Adams, Danielle George, Tasha (John) Brown, Gary (Dawn) Jones, Sonia (Henderson) Jones, Lindsey, Danielle (Christopher) O’Conner, Whitney, Natari, and Samantha (Dyrenn) Jones. Son of the late Samuel A. Sr. and Ethel Jones. Brother of Clifton (Jackie), Vernell, Sr., and Ronald Sr. (Sandra) Jones, and Ruth Williams, and the late Samuel A. Jones, Jr., Gerald Jones, and Ruby (Joseph) Cullier. Father-in-law of the late Paula Jones. Godfather of Mannie White, Sr., also survived by 23 great great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives, and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of, New Zion Baptist Church, Second Zion Baptist Church, St. Mary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches; Haydel Manor Neighborhood are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Zion Baptist Church 6520 Second Zion Ave Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor James Nelson Brown officiating.
