ERNESTINE RITHA RICHARD PRITCHETT

Ernestine Ritha Richard Pritchett entered into eternal rest at her residence on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the age of 98. She was a native of Westwego, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA for 68 years. Ernestine was the first lady of Progressive Church for 27 years. Loving wife of the late Pastor Alex J. Pritchett, Sr. Loving mother of Theophilus A. Pritchett, Thais M. Walker, Fayette S. (Esaw, Jr.) Frazier, Orlando C. Pritchett, Joannette M. (Tyrone) Jones, Linda A. Pritchett, and the late Alex J. Pritchett, Jr., Schwann Mealancon, and Percival E. Pritchett. Daughter of the late Rev. Samuel T. Richard and Lillie Fazande Richard. Granddaughter of the late George and Susan Henderson Richardson, and Celestan and Saraphine Moses Fazande. Sister of Barbara D. Jones, and the late Vernon (Doris) Richard, Daisy B. (Alvin) Jones, and Yvette M. (Jimmy) Lawson. Mother in law of the late Minnie L. Pritchett, and Lionel Walker. Sister in law of Rosa C. (Harry, Sr.) Jordan, and the late Ernest Jones, Willie, Norman, Earl, and Herman Pritchard, and James C. Daniels. Godmother of Chaunsey E. Jones, also survived by 13 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.   Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Progressive Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Progressive Church 437 Cohen St. Marrero, LA, on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Sterling Mealancon officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above-named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum-Avondale, LA.
