Ernest Miles

Ernest Miles, Jr., age 56, departed this life at his residence on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Ernest was a graduate of Alcee Fortier High School, where he played the tuba in the marching band. He was employed for many years as a commercial vehicle and tanker operator. Ernest relocated to Houston, TX for several years, but returned home to New Orleans and became a taxi driver. He was a people person who enjoyed telling stories. Although Ernest never had any biological children of his own, he was instrumental in the rearing of many other kids. Beloved son of Patricia Miles and the late Ernest Miles, Sr. Devoted brother of Kim Lewis (Lionel Hudson).  Loving companion of Ulinda Franklyn. Uncle of Sigfrud (Stephney) Lewis, Jr., Lededra Lewis (Brandon Jr.) Veals, and Evita Lewis (Alvin) Chaney. Great uncle of Joshua Johnson, Trinity Lewis, Jamiya Jackson, and Aniya Lewis. Godfather of Thomas Johnson, Jr. Great great uncle of Ta’Miir Rocque. Ernest is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and great friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
