EMELDA JOYCE CARTER BROOKS

Emelda Joyce America Carter Brooks entered into rest on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the age of 86. She was a native of Vacherie, LA and a resident Marrero, LA. Loving wife of the late Eugene Brooks, Sr. Beloved mother of Eugene Brooks, Jr., Carla (Donald) Robinson, Patricia (Donald) Brown, Anita (Joseph) Current, and the late Terry Craft, Linda Carter, and Yolanda Bruno. Daughter of the late Joseph Carter and Olivia Gros. Sister of the late Clara Davis, Viola Harris, and Charlie Morton. Emelda is survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the above-named parlor.
