EMANUEL SWAYNE, SR.

Emanuel Swayne, Sr., entered eternal rest at his residence surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the age of 96. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Emanuel attended L. B. Landry High School. He served his country in the United States Army for 6 years. He was a retired Food Delivery Driver with the Orleans Parish School Board System for 26 years. Beloved husband of the late Marion Cooper Swayne. Devoted father of Kenneth (Brenda), Sr., Ronald (Michelle), Donald (Donnalyn), and Emanuel (Sherise), Swayne, Jr. and the late Sharon Swayne Wagner. Son of the late Clarence, Sr. and Mary Jacob Swayne. Brother of the late Joseph, Clarence, Jr., Albert, Allan, Chester Swayne, Hazel Brown, Antoinette Swayne, Lois Ellison, and Mary Martin, also survived by 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Bonus father of Sheryln Hughes. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Baptist Church, Abundant Life Church and all neighboring churches are invited to the Funeral Service at Fischer Community Church, 1737 L. B. Landry Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Minister David Richard of Second Baptist Church, Officiating. Bishop James Nelson Brown, Host Pastor.
