Elizabeth Washington Pierce entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, December 25, 2021, at the blessed age of 109. She was a native of Thibodaux, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Elizabeth was a retired housekeeper. She was an active member of Beautiful Zion Baptist Church, where she served as Mother of the Church, and was a member of the Beautification Club, Senior Stewards, and Aging with Grace Senior Group. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Pierce. Loving mother of Frank Bocage, and the late Katherine Porter. Grandmother of the late Bernetta Smith. Daughter of the late Horace and Pinsky Taplin Washington. Sister of the late Sylvia Butler, Pricilla Grittege, Stella Washington, and Edna Washington. Godmother of Johnny Pierce, Jr.; also survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 23 great great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, and friends.
