EDWIN HEREDIA ORTIZ

Edwin Ortiz Heredia was called home on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the age of 69. He was a native of Bayamon P. R., and raised in Jamaica Queens, N.Y. Edwin was a graduate of Forest Hills High School and after graduation he served his country in the United States Army. He was employed as a certified HVAC Engineer with Edo and Veterans Administration in New York. He later relocated to New Orleans LA where he worked for Louisiana Contractor as a carpenter. Beloved husband of Jacqueline Cleveland-Ortiz. Loving father of Isian Owens, Evita Ortiz, Edwin Ortiz, II, and Elana (Alton) Williams. Grandfather of Mia (Collis), Isis, Kayla, Mateo, Elijah, Elisia, Ivy, Nyla, Kaylee, Nina Bria, Kylea. Great Grandfather of Elliana, Ezra, Zariyah, and Zendaya. Son of the late Eduardo and Olga Ortiz. Brother of Olga Ortiz, Eluid Ortiz, Carmen Rivera, Zoraida Trinidad, Annie Ortiz, and the late Victor Ortiz, Alex Ortiz, Anthony Ortiz, and Theodore Ortiz. Companion of Rebecca Smith, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 10:00a.m.  Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. at the above named parlor.
