EDWARD JOSEPH

Edward Joseph, Sr. entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Monday, August 7, 2023, at the age of 86. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Ama, LA. “Sugga Poppa”, as he was affectionately known by family and friends was a retired barge worker with ADM Grain after 30 years of service. Edward loved gardening, working on lawnmowers, and watching his favorite judge shows. Devoted husband of Joyce Mae Joseph. Loving father of Joseph Muhmmad, Janet (Melvin) McCoy, Joyce Joseph, Erika Joseph of Los Angeles, CA, Paul (Regina) Tyler of Hahnville, LA Pauline (Joe) Louis of Port Arthur, TX, Patricia (Joe) Johnson of Harvey, LA, Michelle (Kenneth) Upshaw -Wells of Albuquerque, NM, Monica Phillps of Modeste, LA, and Jacqueline Upshaw of Houston, TX. Son of the late Isaiah and Geneva Joseph. Brother of Matthew Coleman, and the late Charles, Roosevelt, Henry, and Emma Joseph, and Alma Small, also survived by 27 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St Gretna, LA on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
