EDWARD LAWRENCE DYSON

Edward Lawrence Dyson entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the age of 79. He was a native of Kentwood, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Edward was a graduate of O. W. Dillion High School. He was a retired truck driver with Zatarains for over 30 years. Loving father of Ron Dyson, Edward Hobbs, Pansy Dyson, and Kayota Hobbs (Anians) Frazier. Beloved son of the late Eugene Dyson and Eular Matthew Briggs Dyson. Brother of Maxine Burkhalter, Doretha Marie Dyson of Kentwood, LA, and the late Elzie Briggs, Iley Briggs, Jessie Briggs, Eugene Shanks, Jr., Arabelle Richardson, Elvia Mae Briggs, Thelma Briggs, Alean Briggs Jones, and Nurcelia Briggs Evans. Edward is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, Union Chapel AME Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 922 Estalote Ave., Harvey, LA on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Rev. Louis Harrison, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above-named church. Dismissal Service will be held at Union Chapel AME Church, 23011 Silver Creek Rd., Kentwood, LA. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 1:00p.m. Interment: Union Chapel Cemetery - Kentwood, LA.
