EDWA HOUSTON

Edwa “Ninnee” Benine Houston, a caregiver, entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the age of 58. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. “Ninnee”, as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was a graduate of McDonogh 35 Senior High School and she attended Southern University at New Orleans. Beloved wife of John Houston. Loving mother of Larry D. Manning, Jr., Aubrey Devance Manning, and the late Chanez Hart. Stepmother of Joy Houston, Hope Houston, Faith Houston, and John Houston III.  Daughter of the late Edward Jones, Jr. and Julia Mae Palmer. Granddaughter of the late Edward Jones, Sr., Estelle Bolden, Benjamin F. Palmer, and Rosalean M. Palmer. Sister of Sometria Jones. Daughter-in-law of the late John Houston, Jr. and Margaret Houston. Edwa is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Good Hope Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor. Interment: Will Be Private.
