EDNA F. RAYMOND

Edna Mae Fleming Raymond, age 83, entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Sunday, December 31, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. Edna was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Holy Cross College. After receiving her degree in Elementary Education, she taught in both the Jefferson Parish and Terrebonne Parish School Systems. She was also a graduate of United Theological Seminary and Bible College of Houma, LA, where she obtained a degree in Christian Education. Beloved wife of the late Frank Raymond, Jr. Loving mother of Marie A. Stevenson, Wanda (Earl) Davis, Reginald Raymond, Frank (DeQuita) Raymond III, and the late Sean K. Raymond. Daughter of the late Lawrence and Eva K. Fleming. Granddaughter of the late Alex and Effie Knighthead, Webster and Louise Fleming. Sister of Bernard “Blue”, Joseph (Mary) Fleming, and the late Lawrence and Robert Lee Fleming. Edna is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Macedonia Baptist Church, St Mary Baptist Church, and Beautiful Zion Baptist Church of Houma, LA and all neighboring churches; employees of Jefferson Parish School System and JCFA Nontraditional; Alumni of Lincoln High School are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1219 Cohen Street, Marrero, LA on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Albert C. Mickel, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
