EDITH IDA MAE WILLIAMS HART

Edith Ida Mae Williams Hart, age 82, entered into eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank on Thursday, June 1, 2023. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Edith of a graduate of L. B. Landry Senior High School and continued her studies at several trade schools, where she earned certification as a Data Key Punch Operator. She was employed as a cook with several restaurants in the New Orleans area and as a chef at the Louisiana Superdome prior to retirement. Beloved wife of the late Benjamin R. Hart. Loving mother of Beryl, Beth, and Brandon Williams. Grandmother of the late Ryan C. Williams. Daughter of the late Henry Williams and Thelma Williams. Stepdaughter of the late Isaiah Washington, Sr. Devoted sister of Henry Williams, Jr., Isaiah Washington, Jr., and the late Larry Washington, and Thelma W. Price. Also cherishing her memories are 11 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Saint Joseph Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at New Saint Joseph Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 Odeon Street New Orleans, LA on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
