EDDIE WILLIAMS

Eddie Williams, age 88, peacefully transcended from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Thursday, May 23, 2024. He was a native and resident of Marrero, LA.  Eddie was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of Katie’s Barber School and Southern University at New Orleans. Eddie retired after over 50 years as a master barber of Eddie’s Barbershop (Showtime). He was also a retired educator with the Jefferson Parish Public School System.  Eddie was devoted to his family, a lifelong Christian, and a humble man of God. Beloved husband of Lucy Simmons Williams. Devoted father of Brian (Ericka) and Jeanine Williams. Loving grandfather of Joli (Johnny) Walker and Whitney Williams. Son of the late Rev. Clarence Williams, Sr. and Estoria Batiste Williams. Brother of Joseph (Robin) Williams, Ruby Williams, Carolyn Black, and the late Rev. Clarence, Jr., Lawrence, Bertrand, and Rev. Irving Williams, Dorothy Laurent, Audrey Washington, Iris Cyprian, Irene Hill, MaryAnn Elcock, and Elaine Williams. Son-in-law of the late Riol and Jane Simmons, Brother-in-law of Maxine Veal, Carlene Fulton, Rosalie Williams, and Daniel Lee Simmons, Sr. Also cherishing his memories are 10 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Regular Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Regular Baptist Church, 901 Fifth Street, Gretna, LA on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor T. A. Hodge, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Westlawn Cemetery-Gretna, LA.
